Coach Bio
Magnus Gunnarson grew up playing tennis in Iceland, discovering his passion for the sport at a young age. He quickly rose through the ranks to become a top European junior player and went on to represent his country as a 6-time Davis Cup Player and Davis Cup Captain.
After his playing career, Magnus became a full-time coach for both the junior and adult national teams of Iceland. Upon moving to the United States, he settled in Southern California, where he served as Head Coach at the Racquet Club of Irvine and Laguna Niguel Racquet Club, leading their junior development programs and coaching several top-ranked USTA junior players.
Magnus now lives on Roosevelt Island with his wife and their 1-year-old son.
