Kiran S. Rao (’99C ’02PH) is an educator, mentor, and tennis coach with extensive experience in New York scholastic sports. After graduating from Emory University, he returned to New York to teach mathematics at Newtown High School as part of the New York Teaching Fellows program. He coached the girls’ and boys’ tennis teams for six years, achieving an 11-1 record and a semifinal appearance in the B league. Previously, he served as Commissioner of the Public School Athletic League (PSAL) Boys Tennis League and  is currently the Assistant Men’s Tennis Coach at Queens College, the Assistant Boys’ Tennis Coach at Xavier High School, and the Interim Girls’ Head Coach at The Hewitt School. He also mentors students in financial literacy through The Leadership Program in several New York City public schools.
