Advantage offers the highest-quality youth tennis instruction in New York City. Designed for ages 8 and up, our program features a world-class coaching, a boutique training experience, and fewer kids per court, ensuring every player receives the individual attention they deserve.
With a curriculum focused on technical development, footwork, conditioning, and match play, we go beyond the basics to build confident, competitive athletes. Players benefit from access to tournaments, creating a well-rounded pathway for long-term growth in the sport.

We’re excited to introduce Tram and Ferry Chaperone services to the Roosevelt Island Racquet Club. Van pick-up and transportation are also available, making it easier than ever to get your junior to and from tennis.

Meet Your Directors
Recommended for players aged 8-10 years old. It’s played on a 60’x21’ court, roughly the size of a singles tennis court without alleys. This 1-hour class is designed to introduce young players to the fundamentals of tennis.
Recommended for players aged 9+. It’s played on a 78’x27’ court. This 1.5-hour class is designed help students refine their technique for all strokes, become familiar with tactical development and learn to play to compete.Â
Recommended for players aged 10+ years old. It’s played on a full-sized court. This 2-hour class is designed to help students improve the technical development of their strokes, athletic movement and tactical strategies, which are incorporated into point play.Â

Members of the Advantage Junior Development Program receive full Roosevelt Island Racquet Club membership benefits for the period they are enrolled in the Junior Program. This means member prices on court rentals and private lessons with two-week in-advance reservation privileges.
