Advantage Day Camps are the premier choice for sending your child to camp in New York City. Our summers are jam packed with engaging activities all day long. With over 50 years of experience working with children, our trusted and experienced staff bring the best care and guidance for kids.
At Advantage Day Camp, tennis is just one of the many activities your child can enjoy, alongside a variety of sports, enrichment programs, and games designed to keep campers active, engaged, and having fun.

Day Camp FAQs
What do I need to pack for camp?
For Day Camp: Please send your child to camp with a backpack containing a water bottle, a change of clothes, a bathing suit, a towel, pool shoes (such as Crocs, slides, or flip-flops), and a snack.
Can my child be grouped with their friends?
Yes! Please let us know who your child would like to be grouped with, and we will ensure they are placed together.
Who are your Day Camp activity partners?
Kasparov Chess, That Planetarium Guy, Snapology, The Nature Company, Simply Sports and Garden Players.
Do you offer Instructional Swim?
At this time, we offer open swim every day with no instruction.
At Wagner we offer water play in the school yard, not swimming in a pool.
Where is the camp located?
We have 2 Day Camp locations- Roosevelt Island Racquet Club and Wagner Middle School.
What are the Day Camp’s dates and hours?
Roosevelt Island Day Camp: Camp runs from June 22nd-September 4th from 9am-4pm. Wagner Day Camp: Camp runs from June 29th- August 21st from 9am-4pm. *Early drop-off at 8am and late pick-up at 5pm is available at both locations at no charge.
How do I register my child?
Registration is completed online through CampSite. Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged. Please click on the link below to register:
Is there a registration deadline?
No, we accept campers on a rolling basis.
Can my child attend for just one or two weeks?
Absolutely! We offer flexible weekly enrollment to fit your family’s schedule.
What is the staff-to-camper ratio?
We maintain a low staff-to-camper ratio to ensure personalized attention and a safe environment.
Are staff members background-checked?
Yes, all staff are background-checked, trained in child safety, and experienced in working with children.
Is the camp licensed?
Yes, we are fully licensed by the NYC Department of Health.
What kinds of activities do campers do?
Activities include arts & crafts, multi-sports, swimming, STEM, musical theater, nature, chess, lego robotics, outdoor play, group games and more! Weekly themes keep things fun and engaging.
What if my child is shy or nervous on the first day?
No worries! Our trained staff gently welcomes new campers and helps them feel comfortable. Most children settle in within the first day or two.
How does my child make new friends?
Our camp activities encourage teamwork, cooperative games, and small group projects, perfect for helping campers meet new friends naturally.
What if my child wants to change groups mid-session?
We’re flexible! Our staff can help facilitate group adjustments to ensure your child is comfortable, engaged, and having fun.
Can you accommodate food allergies?
Yes, please notify us during registration. We take all allergies seriously and maintain safe handling practices.
What are drop-off and pick-up procedures?
Parents/guardians sign children in and out daily. Only authorized adults may pick up campers.
Do you offer early drop-off or late pick-up?
Yes, early drop-off at 8:00am and late pick-up until 5:00pm are available at both locations for no additional charge.
Do you provide transportation?
Yes! We provide several convenient transportation options for our Roosevelt Island camp. Campers can travel via the Roosevelt Island Tram, the ferry from Gantry Plaza in Long Island City, or our supervised van service from Manhattan Plaza. All options include both drop-off and return transportation at the end of the camp day.
