The World of Advantage Tennis Clubs
For over 50 years, we’ve been at the heart of the city’s tennis scene, shaping culture and nurturing talent. With a rich history of legendary matches and community engagement, we’re excited to continue shaping the game for years to come.
1969 - Opening Facilities Across NYC
HCK is officially formed by Skip Hartman and Bob Kelton. They go on to develop and manage 12 facilities, 10 of which involve air-structures:

1970 - Group Learning Tennis
HCK was one of the first organizations to implement group tennis instruction programs for youth and adults.
1970 - Beginning of the Bubble
HCK pioneers air-structure “bubbles” for indoor tennis in public parks and develops EAMCO, the largest air-structure service company in the Northeast.

1970 - The Founding of NYJTL
HCK President Skip Hartman launched grassroots nonprofit tennis programs with New York Junior Tennis & Learning (NYJTL) in parks and schools. Today, NYJTL is the largest school-based tennis and education program in the nation.

1992 - The Founding of New York Edge
Hartman co-founds the Sports & Arts in Schools Foundation, now known as New York Edge, the city’s largest provider of after-school educational support and enrichment programs in NYC public schools.
2015 - Advantage Tennis Clubs
HCK adopts Advantage Tennis Clubs as the brand for all commercial facilities and programs.

Today - The Tennis We Love
Advantage Tennis Clubs builds on a legacy of innovation to deliver exceptional junior and adult tennis programs, expert coaching, and a welcoming community for players of all ages and abilities.
