Staff Tournament
Welcome to the 2012/13 Staff Tournament! With so much talent amongst our staff, it’s time to stay sharp and sneak in some matches into our busy schedules. So put down the donuts, the holiday season is over, and let’s hit the courts! Congratulations to last year’s winner, Mehdy Karbid, edging out Mike Williams in a tight finals! The purpose of this weekly tournament is to play, stay sharp, get a work out, but also to make a little cash. The entry fee is $100. The total pot will be split with the finalist, 60/40, in the winners favor. The entry deadline is appropriately Feb 14th. Because we love tennis. Joking aside, we’ll start Feb 14th so that we have time to practice a little bit! The overall format will depend on how many players we have, but the match format will be two sets, with ad, and play a super breaker if you split sets. With six players or more we’ll have two brackets and the top two move on to a semi-final show down. Five or less, we’ll play a round robin. Ideally, one round per week. All matches are designated to Thursdays, 2-4pm. You can reschedule your matches, but Thurs 2-4pm is the default time and both players must agree to the rescheduled time. Again, the purpose is to play, so be accommodating within reason. This is a lot of fun and creates a good buzz around the club.
